Il jiu-jitsu brasiliano è un’arte marziale, derivata dal primissimo Judo, focalizzata sulla lotta a terra. Sono presenti proiezioni e anche difese da percussioni, ma dove splende davvero è la capacità di immobilizzare gli avversari. Si usa il Kimono (Gi) anche se c’è una variante in cui se ne fa a meno (chiamata No-gi) l Grappling è nato come termine generico che include tutti gli sport di lotta. Con l’affermarsi del jiu-jitsu e della sua versione senza kimono (No-gi) si è voluto allargare il sistema di regole per cercare di includere altri sport di lotta. In questo modo anche praticanti di lotta libera e sambo possono cimentarsi in tornei più prestigiosi. ### Quali sono le differenze tra grappling / BJJ? Come in ogni disciplina, sono le regole che fanno lo sport. Se il regolamento della **IBJJF** è quello considerato standard per il jiu-jitsu, Esistono vari regolamenti per il grappling: alcuni danno molta più enfasi alla lotta in piedi, altri avvantaggiano gli scambi, mentre altri ancora sono a tutti gli effetti regolamenti di jiu-jitsu sportivo. ### Quali sono le differenze tra Bjj & Judo? Come abbiamo visto, il jiu-jitsu brasiliano – nonostante il nome – è figlio del primissimo judo. Da li ha preso una strada diversa specializzandosi nella lotta a terra, riducendo tantissimo il valore di una proiezione e rendendo primario il controllo e la finalizzazione. Sono a tutti gli effetti due sport diversi anche se moltissimi praticanti di jiu-jitsu di alto livello praticano judo per migliorare il loro gioco in piedi e piano piano anche molti judoka stanno studiando il jiu-jitsu per il loro ne-waza (mi viene in mente Flavio Canto). Per quanto riguarda gli amatori è molto probabile che superata una certa età molti judoka si iscrivano a bjj perchè è molto meno soggetto a traumi, avendo meno proiezioni. ### MMA & Grappling / BJJ, che rapporto hanno? Le MMA Moderne, quelle nate con L’UFC, devono TUTTO al brazilian Jiu-jitsu – così come il jiu-jitsu ha un debito enorme con le MMA. Le foto del primo campione UFC, Royce Gracie, hanno fatto il giro del mondo. in che modo questo uomo di 70 Kg poteva riuscire a sconfiggere in pochi istanti persone di 30 kg più pesanti? Nelle prime edizioni dell’UFC i vincitori erano sempre lottatori. Ultimamente l’enfasi delle MMA è tornata sullo striking ma per una ragione semplice. Il livello di lotta (in piedi e a terra) dei praticanti è stellare e quindi riescono ad annullarsi a vicenda. ### Il Jiu-jitsu Brasiliano ha le cinture? Nel Brazilian Jiu-jitsu ci vogliono circa 10 anni a prendere la cintura nera: anche se è possibile ottenerla prima (per meriti sportivi, o perché si arriva da discipline di lotta) quello è il tempo in cui una persona con un lavoro e impegni può aspettarsi come orizzonte temporale.
